Backyard Cheese and Brews: Craft Beer & Cheese for the Great Outdoors – Spend an evening with The Cheese Course at Seasonal Pantry in an intimate class discovering and savoring seasonal, artisanal cheeses. We’ll explore the world of cheese pairing by tasting 3 craft beers and 6 cheeses along with house made accompaniments by Seasonal Pantry’s Dan O’Brien. Fromager Carolyn Stromberg will delve into the story behind each cheese, as well as give practical advice about selecting, serving, pairing, and more! Class is $49 and each is limited to 12 participants.
Belgian-Style Beer Dinner – Mad Fox Brewing Company’s culinary team, led by Executive Chef Andrew Dixon, has an exciting menu for their first Belgian themed beer dinner. They’ll have a 5-course meal paired with Mad Fox’s Belgian-style beers, including the soon to be released Abbaye des Chutes and the Witte Vos Witbier. The cost is $75 not including taxes and gratuity – seating is limited, reservations with a credit card are taken at 703-942-6840. 7:00pm, $75 per person.

Gluten Free Dinner at Wildfire – Join Wildfire for an evening of gluten free dining, featuring a four course custom menu, each paired with a hand-selected wine to complement the dish. The event begins with a reception at 6:30 p.m., follwed by dinner at 7:00 p.m. The event is priced at $65.00 per person, plus tax and gratuity. Guest speaker, Vanessa Weisbrod, Executive Editor of Delight Gluten Free Magazine, will be on hand to share her insight on living and dining gluten free. Crab Boil on the Patio – Art and Soul is turning their patio into the District’s crab boil destination every Wednesday throughout the summer. Beginning June 6, Chef Wes Morton will serve Louisiana-style jumbo crabs, traditional sides and cold, seasonal beer from Flying Dog Brewery. 5:30pm.
Old Glory June Beer & Cigar Dinner – Join Old Glory for a delicious menu includes Pulled Pork “Short Stack” Corn Hoe Cakes smothered with a Savory Spiced Porter Maple Syrup; Grilled Romaine Wedge with Drunken Cherry Tomato Relish, Smoked Mozzarella and Basil Hefeweizen Vinaigrette; “Beer Can Chicken” Sam Adams Summer Ale Chicken with Beer Gravy, Horseradish Mashed Potatoes and fried Corn on the Cobb; Summer Strawberry Shortcake; Farmers Market Strawberries, Crispy Fried Cheesecake, Strawberry Blonde Caramel Beer Sauce, Sponge Cake Croutons. 6:30pm – 9:00pm, $50 per person.

Scott Harris, general manager of the award-winning Virginia distillery Catoctin Creek, will demonstrate how to make three whiskey-based libations that are sure to be a hit at your next summer soirée. Summer Fun in the Sun – Come enjoy the sun, sights and sounds every Thursday at DoubleTree’s rooftop pool in Bethesda MD. The chef is grill’in, the bartenders are pour’in and the DJ is jamm’in, while guests enjoy a refreshing swim in the pool. Meet new people and hang out with friends from all over Washington DC. Jazz in the Garden – The Jazz in the Garden Series begins its 12th season May 25. The free concert series features an array of jazz artists performing a wide variety of styles—including salsa, blusion, vibraphone, and Afrofunk—every Friday evening from 5:00 to 8:30 at the National Gallery of Art Sculpture Garden. The Great American Festival – The Great American Festival is taking over the National Harbor Waterfront, including the entire pavilion and beach areas, as well as both piers as we set up three outdoor stages to bring you the best entertainment in the DC area. Enjoy live music featuring Eve 6, Ozomatli, The Dance Party, Lost in Paris and See-i! Dance the night away to multiple DJs including Skratch & Sniff, DJ Chris Styles, and DJ Pat Premier! There will be delicious food from the DC area’s most popular food vendors including Famous Daves BBQ and the Hard Times Cafe. Miller Lite and Bacardi will be at your side for great drinks everywhere to quench your summer thirst.
